In any office there is one type of furniture that is very vital and useful. All employees of a company or facility, from the highest executive to the lowest ranking individual in it has this most common but useful piece – an Office desk.
This is where your office files, computer, office gadgets and personal things are located when you are report for work in your office. Office desks come in many sizes and designs. With the large number of individuals going to offices, working outside the home, Office desks had evolved and multiply in variety. There are modern Office desk that you can consider very creative in design while others can be flat. It may come large lavished with many things or just plain and simple, depending actually on the person who occupies it or the area of the office where it is located. Today, these are made ergonomically to reduce body stress and strain. Typically, Office desk also contains drawers and cabinets that can be locked to keep your valuables or anything that you consider important. Today, there are a lot of fashionable and sleek designs available to choose from. Here are some common and basic types of Office desk that you may encounter:
1. En vogue Office desk. These are transparent desk with metal legs and glass top. These desks are so sleek in design that it gives an impression that only less space is needed.
2. Traditional desks made of wood. These desks can be found in any office. The most expensive wooden desk is made of Maple.
3. Other Office desks which are also made of metal, molded plastic and fiberglass are also cool and trendy.
4. Computer desks. These are purposely made for people whose task requires the use of a computer all the time. Usually, these desks’ parts are adjustable.
5. Reception desks are Office desks specifically made to be used in the reception area. The design is conceptualized based on the principle that these desks are mostly seen by the public. It cones in different attractive shapes, colors and designs mainly to create a positive first impression.
6. L-Shaped desks, as the name suggests uses the principle of maximum space utilization. Most reception desks are L-shaped.
7. U-Shaped Desks. The same as the L-shaped desk, it also provides maximum space utilization. Aside from that, it also gives a sense of privacy to the user. This is an ideal Office desk for an individual with many tasks.
