Travelling abroad on business trips can be an exhausting process and getting to and from the airport can often be the worst part of it. The last thing I need after a twenty hour flight is to have to try and acquire and drive a hire car, or negotiate a taxi or bus - I just want to find my way to the hotel and sleep off the jet lag, preferably in the most comfortable way possible, which is why I'm so glad my company has started paying for airport transfer.
They've been sending me away more and more recently; with the state the world's economy is in at the moment, we're doing everything we can to expand overseas, striking while the iron's hot, so to speak, and that involves a lot of foreign travel, more than I was ever doing before, and I considered that to be fairly regular. After the first couple of trips in the space of a month, I was starting to feel burned out - my faculty for languages isn't amazing at the best of times, trying to navigate my way to a bus or taxi after a long flight was a lot more difficult than I would have liked, and the taxis on the way to the airport in the morning were beginning to become a little costly too.
After hearing my complaints, my employers decided that it was prudent for them to have me on top form when I was at these meetings rather than tired and cranky from having to find my own way to the hotel after a long flight, so they decided to supply me with airport transfer every time I travelled abroad. Now, every time I fly for business purposes, I am met by a luxury car with chauffeur at either my door or from the office depending on where I'm flying from and then am driven to the right airport terminal, and then there is a driver waiting for me at the airport when I land to drive me to my hotel, and the same applies for the journey home, making airport transfer the ideal way to get to and from my foreign destinations in luxury.
Airport transfer has made my travelling much simpler; now there's never any worry about how I'm going to find my way to my hotel or navigate the confusing public transport system, or having to wait for the money I spent on taxis to come back through the company's expense account, and it's certainly improved my performance at these meetings.
